Project Name: Upper West Side Apartment 2, New York, NY
Area: 1,000 SF
A large exterior space presented an opportunity to make a strong connection to the outdoors for this 2-bedroom apartment. To this end, a new large terrace opening was created.
Within the apartment, custom millwork has been designed and detailed throughout. At the kitchen, a custom island with an attached table can expand to accommodate 2 or 4 people, and it can be separated to accommodate dining for 8. A large wall unit creates hidden storage for guitars. A custom bed provides clothing storage.
The living room has been reconfigured with the addition of new millwork and finishes.
At the existing bathroom, a new shower was added which is also accessed by the new adjacent powder room. Electrified glass partitions at the shower provide privacy and separation between the two rooms by use of a switch. A portion of the existing building hallway was incorporated to create a generous new entry to the home.
