Nandar Godoy-Dinneen, LEED GA

Born and raised in Quito, Ecuador, Nandar Godoy Dinneen, LEED GA, received her first degree in Architecture at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito and is licensed to practice in her home country. Nandar’s interest in architecture was piqued by watching her mother build her own home on an island using local sustainable materials and local laborers, which has inspired an ongoing commitment to working collaboratively with people and nature.

Following an interest in sustainable design, Nandar moved to New York in 2006 where she received a degree in Interior Design from NYU and a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Interior Environments from the New York School of Interior Design. Nandar brings over ten years of experience to PJCArchitecture in new construction and renovation work for high-end residential interiors, ground-up residential projects and commercial buildings. Nandar’s strong project management and mentoring skills make her an integral part of the PJCA team and a leader in the industry.

Nandar is interested in the exploration of tectonics as an art form, or the use of material beyond its basic intent. She believes that architecture’s purpose is to improve quality of life for people, and that humanity is the crucial element in creating spaces that are both engaging and functional. As a LEED Green Associate, Nandar works to integrate sustainable and passive design strategies into both renovation and ground-up projects.

Nandar supports several non-profit organizations and has been recognized for her love of community, culture, and philanthropy. She is a co-founder of MARAVILLA, a New York-based independent organization dedicated to raising awareness of Latin America and its people through film and the arts. Nandar has initiated many programs through this organization, most notably the Ecuadorian Film Festival and the Venezuelan Film Festival, both in New York.
