Project Name: Midtown Office 2, New York, NY
Area: 3,500 SF
The core of this office space revolves around an abstracted form of Cherimoya plant, which is one of the fruits that the client company sources and imports. This form, rendered in metal and translucent glass, creates a space for an enclosed conference area, which is the heart of the office and its functions. Open office space surrounds this core. The south wall is flanked with offices that are separated from the main space by a ‘wave wall.’ This wave wall is constructed of teak planks and translucent glass, and evokes movement through water, air, and earth. The wall guides one through the office space horizontally while giving the feeling of vertical movement with its gentle-curving teak planks and light-filled glass windows above.
